Great Grandpa Peter Pavlina's funeral

Great Grandpa Peter Pavlina passed away on Friday August 22, 2014 at age 88.  I was fortunate enough to be able to fly up to Los Altos in time to say goodbye and give him a hug and kiss.  He was a very strong and powerful man and is the definition of a Patriarch.  I wish the kids would have been able to know him better but the most I can do is share stories and memories.  Grams is healthy and well so they will have some more time with her which is good.  Gramps was a part of a group of immigrant families that owned several orchards in Silicon Valley that were later developed into commercial properties which we still own today.  We visited a place called the "Heritage Museum" where they tell the story and their are pictures of my Great Grandpa Luka Pavlina.

The ENTIRE family came out for the funeral, there was a Mass where all of us Grandkids did a reading and my Uncle Todd did the Eulogy.   It was emotional and beautiful.  The wake was held at the Los Altos Country Club where my they have been members forever.  It was great to see all our cousins and second cousins and good friends.  All the Great Grandkids had a blast running around and playing together.  My Dad made a beautiful video in memory of Gramps.  After we had a BBQ at Grams and Gramps house and got to visit more.

We spent the next day at the Country Club pool which was a great time!  The kids swam, the big kids (Craig, Chad and Rick) jumped off the diving board and we hung and laughed in the sun.  That night we went to dinner with us Wilder sisters and husbands and the Lincolns in Palo Alto.  Braydon, Dylan, Colt, Jake and Jesse all hung with Mimi and Grampy watching movies and playing in the Greenes suite at the hotel.

Saturday morning we made the Loooong drive back home, the kids pointed at cows and horses along the way.  We stopped at Harris Ranch and got some meat.  We decided to split up the drive by staying at Shutters on the beach in Santa Monica.  It was the best decision!  We walked the beach and the pier, watched fisherman and people do gymnastics at Muscle Beach.  We got dinner and then swam in the pool until bedtime.

The next day we had breakfast at the hotel overlooking the water, then went to the Smiths (Siena's Godfather) to meet new baby Molly.  She is so sweet and looks exactly like Connor did as a baby.  The kids played together, ate ice cream from the ice cream truck that came by and then we ate pizza dinner while Craig and I did our family Fantasy Football draft. We drove home after that.  It was an unexpected but fun adventure up North and back.

Our second cousin Niklas Pavlina from Croatia made this family tree of our Croatian side of the family.

Siena is officially potty trained at 2 years and 5 months old!

Siena is fully potty trained and we are so happy.  It took a few weeks working with her and there was a time where she always wanted to hug Mommy while she went but now she's going potty like a champ.

Boating with Daddy!

Craig and the kids went out on a boat ride with Craig's friend from work and his two kids and Craig took Braydon tubing for the first time.  Braydon said he liked going up the wave.

6 year Anniversary at La Costa Resort

We celebrated 6 years of wedded bliss with a Staycation at La Costa Resort and Spa with the kids.  It's a very family friendly resort that has a beach pool, waterslides, 'smores at night and a ton of other fun events.  We spent the day at the pool, Braydon practiced swimming and showing us how he could jump off the side and swim back.  Siena loved watching the band that played Little Mermaid songs and the Hula Hoop contest.  We had a room near the driving range so Braydon and Craig hit some balls before dinner.  It was a fun time and a perfect way to spend our Anniversary with our two beautiful children that we love more than anything.

The cousins visit!!!

Aunt Wendy, Dylan and new cousin baby Colt came to visit us for a week in July.  Jenny came with them too.  And Aunt Kim and Jesse came for the weekend!  It was such a fun week bonding with cousins, we went to Legoland and the horse races.  At the races the kids rode horses, went on bouncy houses and helped Mommy and Daddy pick horses to bet on.  We had an adult night out and got Sushi and went to the Belly Up for a concert.  The kids were obsessed with Colt who is the sweetest, he smiles ALL the time and is the easiest baby.  Braydon and Dylan always get along so well of course.  Siena pushes Dylan's buttons sometimes but they get along well too.   And ALL the kids love  cousin Jesse.
