Braydon's Big Boy Bed

Over the weekend we made a lot of changes to the house, we carpeted our Family Room, got the Nursery nearly ready and transformed Bray's room into a "Big Boy Room". We got him a Full Size bed which is gigantic for the little guy but thought he could grow into it. We moved his furniture into Siena's room and he got the guest room furniture which goes perfectly with his bed and 'Surfer Theme". He is such an easygoing boy, he transitioned into the bed with ease so far. He hasn't had any trouble sleeping in his new bed and has taken great naps and slept throughout he night both nights. I'm sure it will be a different story when he figures out how to turn and open door nobs but right now he knows bed means sleep. We are so lucky to have such a good natured and easy boy :)

Braydon is 2 years and 2 months old

Braydon has grown into the funniest, smartest little character. The last couple months he has grown tremendously. He is FULLY talking now and chatters about a lot. I will pick him up from school and ask him how his day is and he will excitedly give me a recap. He says Oben is his best friend and they always play together, Oben is a little surfer dude looking kid with blond hair. He told me Milos hit him and he hit him back and told the teacher. He sings the song "Moves Like Jagger" and dances which cracks us up. He still has an obsession with Buzz. We bought him a costume that he wants to wear all day every day and runs around the house saying "I'm fiyng Mommy, follow me!" And I swear he can read or at least recognize some words because when I'm flipping through the direct tv list and he sees text for a movie like Ice Age for instance he will yell "Mommy, stop, Ice Age"

On Sunday Craig and I took him to the driving range with his new driver that his Uncle Rick got him and they hit golf balls. He had us laughing so hard. He wanted to do it himself and would make comments the whole time. He would say 'Oh!" with frustration every time he missed and when he made contact would say 'good hit!" We watched Craig hit some balls and braydon played coach. He would hand Craig balls and go over to him telling him to spread his legs wider and make a motion like he was hitting the ball.

He is extremely social, waving hi and bye to everyone wherever he goes, trying to play with groups of kids whenever he can. Aunt Cristin has a funny story about when he went to watch her soccer game with Grandma and Grandpa and he yelled 'Bye kids!", when they didn't listen he walked over to them, tapped the on the shoulder and said "Bye kids!" again to make sure he was noticed.

He loves going to swim lessons with Daddy every Thursday and will show me all he learned in the bath saying "kick, kick under!" and trying to duck his head under and will flip over to float on his back.

We count our blessing every day with what a perfect son he is. We couldn't be happier!!!

Siena Rose delivery update

I had my 37 week appt. this week. Siena is head down and I am starting to efface which means the little girl is getting ready to make her appearance! I talked with the doctor in depth about the delivery option of VBAC vs repeat C section again because as the time nears Craig and I of course get more concerned about the safety and risks of the method we choose. The bottom line is with a VBAC it's way easier on me and better for future births but there is a small chance (just 1%) that if my uterine scar ruptures during delivery that Siena could die. It's a very small chance but a chance I can not even bear thinking of. I would rather take the risks on myself with a C section and ensure her safety. That being said we decided to move up my C section date to March 20th, a day after my due date. That way if I go into labor before it's God's plan, if not we will do the C section.

Siena's Baby Shower

On February 18, 2012 my sisters threw a beautiful baby shower for Siena and I at the Park Hyatt Aviara. It was a tea from 2-4:30pm. We did a spa day before and layer out by the pool which was so nice. The weather has been sunny and great in San Diego so the pool was nice. 26 ladies ended up showing up to the Shower, all great friends and family. We had a great time chatting and laughing. Siena got spoiled with gifts, so many adorable dresses and clothes, I will never have to buy anything for her, her closet is fully stocked :) She has more clothes than I do! After the shower a handful of us came back to our house and hangout and opened presents. It was perfect!

Disneyland with cousin Dylan and the Steeles

The Steeles are visiting from Baltimore and we thought it would be a great time to take the kids to Disneyland! It was Dylans first time and Braydon's 2nd but first time since he's been super into all the Disney movies like Toy Story and Monsters Inc and Nemo. They were so excited leading up. I kept telling Braydon for the past couple weeks that when Wendy and Chad and Dylan get here we're going to Disneyland. Every day he would say "Go to Disneyland Mommy!" and I'd tell him we have to wait. I told him at Disneyland we would see Mickey and Buzz and Monsters and Nemo and he was beside himself with excitement.

We drove up there on Saturday after Zoe's 2nd birthday party which was a ton of fun too. We stopped and say GG on the way. We got a hotel room at Desert Palms right next to the park. We had adjoining rooms with the Steeles. Bray and Dylan took a bath together and bounced around the rooms with excitement until we all went to bed.

We went to breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel and the kids were so excited about all the Disney characters they got to meet. Both Braydon and Dylan would chase them and give them big hugs and kisses. It was a great start to a perfect day. We went to the park after breakfast and met up with Connor and Chris and Lyly too. The very first ride we went on was Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland, Braydon was in HEAVEN! After that we went on the Nemo ride which the kids loved as well. Braydon got a little scared when it got dark but was in awe that Nemo was swimming around underwater. After that we went on It's a Small World which was a huge hit as well. We bought the kids little Mickey and Minnie toys (the first of several we would get all day). Then we went to Toon Town where Dylan met Mickey and Braydon went on his very first roller coaster with Daddy and Connor and Chris. He loved it!

Wendy and I left from there to take the kids back for a nap. They both passed out int he strollers and when we got to the room woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep because they wanted to return to Disney. We went back and went to California Adventure. The kids were both so tired but were trying to rally from here on. We went to the Disney Junior show, the Monsters, Inc ride and had dinner at the Wharf. We bought Braydon a light up spinning Buzz and he was running around fighting off fake Zurgs with it. He saw Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen and ran up to them. After that we went back over to Disney where we stumbled upon the Disney Light parade. This ended up being Braydon's favorite part! He watched from Daddy's shoulders and got a second wind from all the excitement. We went over to Pirates of the Carribean and Braydon and Daddy and Uncle Chad went on it. Dylan passed out in her stroller and I am too pregnant for rides with drop offs. We ended the night going on the Winnie the Pooh ride twice since there was no line. Braydon didn't want to leave but you could tell he was beyond exhausted. He passed out in the stroller on the walk to the car and didn't even wake up when the fireworks went off.

It was the best time! Disneyland truly is the Happiest Place on Earth. There is no better feeling than to see that joy and excitement in their faces when they see their Disney heros come to life. Experiencing it all through your childs eyes is the greatest! Craig and I can't wait to make a tradition of family vacations here :)

Birthday Parties!

We had two friends Birthday Parties this last week. Kingston turned 3 and had his at Pump it Up, a super fun bouncy house and slide play area. It was "Cars" themed, Angela and Malcolm sent out "Lighting McKingston" invites, so creative! Braydon had a blast running around and climbing up the bounce house obstacle courses and going down the slide. Luckily daddy had enough energy to run around with him. The kids had pizza and cake and wore Mater hats.

On Saturday we celebrated Bray's girlfriend Sophia's 2nd birthday at this great place called ArtSoup. I had never heard of the place but am glad we got introduced to it because it was so fun! A lot of Braydon's playgroup friends were there as well. It was Mickey and Minnie themed and the kids ran around making a mess! Bray painted a VW bug, played with chalk, play dough, paint, legos, you name it. Braydon LOVES Sophia, he ran up and gave her a huge hug and tried to kiss her on the cheek and she turned to try and kiss him on the lips. A ladykiller already ;)
