Braydon is 6 months old today!

Our little love bug is 6 months old today and we couldn't be more in love! He has made our lives so much brighter and I'm so excited for a lifetime ahead of fun times with our little man. The last 6 months have flown by so quickly! It seems like yesterday he was kicking around in my belly. Here's a quick overview of what's been going on with our guy at 6 months:
TEETH - Today I noticed his first little tooth popping through on the bottom. I've noticed he's been chomping on everything in sight and this just verifies that he has been teething!
MOVEMENT - Everyone says he's advanced for his age in this category. He's been sitting up on his own for a while now, grabs at everything within a few foot radius and if there's something across the room he'll manage to worm his way over to it. He's on the verge of crawling, I give it a couple weeks. He's already getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. He loves to be on his stomach and we call him turtle because sometimes we'll walk in his room and his little head is poking up over the side of his crib or playpen looking at us. He loves to stand too, he's a strong little guy. He can hold himself up on our coffee table, we are trying to encourage him to crawl first because at times he seems just as close to walking.
LAUGHS - He LOVES to laugh! His Dad makes him laugh really hard all the time, just by looking at him! His huge toothless smile is the funniest, he is such a happy baby. He rarely cries and if he does it's usually for good reason like he's starving or bumped his head.
BOUNCING - He loves to bounce. Even when he's not in his bouncy he's jumping up and down.
EATING - I'm still mainly breast feeding but we have also introduced him to rice cereal and he loves avocados.
MR GRABBY HANDS - His favorite is when he sits in his Bebe Pod chair on the counter while Mommy prepares dinner. He'll grab at everything! The spoon I'm stirring with, the flour jar, bananas, whatever is within reach. And he LOVES paper. He rips the pages out of magazines while I'm reading them and the page goes straight to the mouth. He also has an obsession with remote controls and phones (typical boy).
SLEEP - He goes to bed at 8:30pm and sleeps until around 3am, then goes back to sleep until around 7 or 8am. He loves to sleep on his stomach. It's hilarious, sometimes I'll look in our monitor and Braydon's head is filling the screen, wide eyed looking straight into the lens, who knows how long he's been up for but he'll just be wide awake playing with himself in the crib. And he'll wrestle with his bear blanket. So funny!
TEMPERAMENT - He is still a super easy and mellow baby. He is pretty energetic and loves to play, hardly ever fusses, we can take him anywhere with us and he lets anyone hold him. He loves to people watch and is really attentive when someone is talking that's in the room. He'll look straight at you and make eye contact like he's attentively listening. He likes to fight naps and gets pretty hyper, we think he got that trait from his Daddy :)
BABBLE - He is a great communicator, he talks a lot, shrieking when excited and giving lots of goos and gees. He grunts a lot too.
LOOKS - We have no clue what color hair he will end up having because it's an array of colors right now, brown, blond and a tint of red. His eyes are still an ocean blue and his eyelashes are incredibly long! He always gets compliments on his eyelashes. He looks exactly like his Daddy, although we aren't sure if he got the famous dimples yet. He doesn't seem to have them so far but sometimes when he smiles real big it looks like there could be a hint of them there.

Craig's 1st Fathers Day

We celebrated Craig's very 1st Father's Day this weekend! It was a perfect weekend. On Saturday night we went for a walk with Braydon and Monty on the beach in Carlsbad and got dinner on the patio at Dini's by the Beach where we watched the sunset and ate yummy oysters. On Sunday we went to church, where Braydon LOVES to people watch and I made a big breakfast after. Then we decided to head to the beach for Braydon's very first day at the beach! We had a blast watching Daddy surf and watching the waves and people walk by. Braydon is the cutest little guy and Craig and I feel so blessed to have him in our lives. Parenting has been so much fun and I cherish every second of it. Braydon lights up our lives with his big toothless grins and it's adorable how much he watches Craig and gets excited when he enters the room. Craig is such a great Dad, full of so much love for Braydon and I (and Monty!).

Our little Laker fan

The Lakers are playing the Celtics in the NBA Finals and Braydon has been showing his support by wearing his Kobe jersey every game!

Brady meets Great Grandpa Wilder

We flew up to Spokane, Washington for the weekend so Braydon could meet Great Grabdpa Wilder and the Elmers. Braydon did GREAT on the plane as always, he just loves to people watch! We flew in on Saturday June 12th and celebrated Grandpa's 93rd birthday at the Elmers with a BBQ. Grandpa LOVED Brady, he was amazed at how attentive and alert he was. He said he was going to be a smart little boy. On Sunday we visited the floating green in Coeur d'Alene and then hungout with Grandpa and watched the Laker game at the Elmers. Grandpa told a story about how he knew a jockey named Braydon that rode some winning horse a long time ago. We had a great time listening to his stories :)

Braydon is 5 1/2 months old

Brady is just about 5 1/2 months old and I'm more in love with him than ever. He's growing so fast! I'm trying to hold on to every moment I have with him. He's still not sleeping through the night, he wakes up at about 3am, but you know what, it doesn't bother me. I mean, it's only a small passage of time that he'll be this little and waking up at that hour. It hit me last night when I heard the usual 3am cry through his monitor and I went in to pick him up out of his crib. I just sat there rocking him while he gazed into my eyes and pet my face with his little hand while making the most adorable little cooing sounds. It's those moments I know I'll miss.

Braydon's 1st River Trip at 5 months old

Brady went to the river for the 1st time this Memorial Weekend with the Schwarz family. He loved Grandma and Grandpa's place on the river and all the fun boats! The water was still pretty cold so he didn't go in it but he loved the boat ride to the sand bar. Uncle Cota and Auntie Ruthie were there and Auntie Cristin and Bethany, and of course the Winzen family. Tracy was there with new baby Caprese and Max. Brady has a crush on Caprese already we think ;) It was a great time!

Brady is 5 months old today!

And what a month it has been! He has changed so much over the past 4 weeks. He is like a little dude now. He laughs so hard he can barely catch his breath, he grabs at everything, he gets upset if you take a favorite toy away, he rolls over, and he has a major personality. He gets hyper and laughs and kicks his legs and he throw his lower lip out if he gets upset. Craig and my favorite time is in the mornings with him, he's hilarious and the three of us will lay in bed and have a blast. The past couple nights he's moved from his bassinet to his crib and he's done so smoothly. We love him so much and feel so blessed to have such an amazing little man. He couldn't be more perfect in our eyes.

Brady ate rice cereal for the first time

At 4 1/2 months we decided to let him try rice cereal for the first time. He had his 4 month doctor visit this last week and he weighed in at 15 pounds and is 25 1/2 inches long :) He's in the 60th percentile. He had a bunch of shots and the poor guy got a fever of 103 :( He had a rough week but is feeling like himself again. The doc said he is ready for rice cereal since he's a strong little guy. He was hilarious and adorable as we fed him for the first time with a spoon. He kept grabbing it himself and chomping on the spoon. Half of it ended up on his face but it was a lot of fun to feed the little man.

Grampy's visit

Grampy Wilder came to visit last week and him and Braydon had a blast. We went to the Carlsbad Flower fields and Braydon was so funny with his little sunglasses. He misses Grampy already and can't wait to see him again!

Braydon has been LOVING his Daddy

The past week Braydon has lit up every time his Daddy walks in the room. He thinks he's the most hilarious thing ever. Craig will stick his tongue out of bite his feet and hands and Braydon will give a loud belly laugh with a huge toothless grin. It's the cutest thing ever!

Braydon has been on a world tour meeting EVERY one of Mommy and Daddy's friends. Last weekend he visited all the Schwarz neighbors and met the Hansens and Winzens on Balboa Island and now he flew up North to continue meeting all those who love him dearly. On Friday we had a BBQ at Mimi and Grampy's and Brady met Mommy's childhood friends Katie, Kaela, Mary, Kyle and Melanie. Lynn Strong and Denis Brown stopped by that day too. On Saturday Craig and I went Wine Tasting in Nanpa and Brady stayed with Mimi and Grampy for the night. They had a blast with him! On Monday he met Amy and the Geernearts, on Tuesday he met Tara Jasper and her twins, Jessica Kilcullen and her kids, Mary Gaffney, Terry McNulty, and Carol and Jay Delaney. On Wednesday he met Olivia and Brealyn and saw Auntie Robin again and on Thursday he met his Great Grandparents Peter and Carole and Uncle Lou. He had the best time visiting with so many loving friends and family and can't wait to see them all again. During hte trip he became a lot more aware and active. He loves to lay on the ground and play with his toys and LOVED watching the TV show Life with Grampy.

3 Months Old

Brady is the most amazingly mellow and adorable little man. He is super smiley and loves baths and being naked on the changing table. He laughs and coos and melts my heart. He's been to work with me a few times and is such a great sidekick. He just hangs out and entertains himself. He's been starting to grab stuff and put it in his mouth and he's really strong! He loves to have his Dad hold his hands and pull himself to a sit up position. He can come with us anywhere and he doesn't fuss. We are so lucky to have such a perfect little boy!

St Patty's Day at 12 weeks old

Braydon had a great first St Pattys Day! Aunt Wee and Uncle Chad are still visiting from Baltimore and the weather was sunny and 80 degrees in San Diego so we met a bunch of friends at the Del Mar plaza to hangout and watch the sunset. Braydon was a hit! He was such a good boy, being passed around like a football between all our friends. A band was playing reggae and the atmosphere was perfect! After we went to dinner at Il Fornio and he was a happy, mellow boy through it all.

Brady and his cousin Baby Steele

Aunt Wee Wee, Uncle Chad and Aunt Kim and Uncle Rick all came out to visit for Baby Steele's baby shower that we threw at the house. It was such a fun time and Braydon loved bonding with his Aunts and Uncles. He loves them all and is so blessed to be surrounded by such love. Aunt Wee Wee is 7 months pregnant. In this picture he's saying hi to his soon to be 5 month younger cousin.

He had his first shot too which was really hard for Mommy to watch. The poor little guy went from smiling and cooing to a loud shriek :(

Braydon Smiled at Me Today!

Braydon smiled for the first time at his Momma today! We were laying in bed staring at each other and I was singing and playing with his arms and he smiled at me and held it for a while. It warmed my heart :)

Braydon's 2nd week

This last week Braydon was 2 weeks old. He had his first bath and had MANY visitors. He's a very deeply loved little boy. He also recognized his Mom and Dad's voice for the first time, sucked his thumb and found himself in the mirror. His head and neck are REALLY strong, he holds his head up a lot. He's also gained a pound in one week. The boy loves to eat! He's so good and barely cries except when he gets his diaper changed or is really hungry. We've been blessed so far with a mellow, adorable little man.
